Our Padstow cottage, ‘The Barn’ is in an ideal location for those looking for peace and quiet but with all local amenities close to hand. Set in delightful countryside surrounded by open fields and farmland, it’s so easy to walk, cycle, or drive to nearby towns, villages, places of interest and beaches.

â€˜The Barn’ is a few minutes walk to the Camel Trail. Just down the hill the bridge straddles an inlet of the enclosing a tranquil, tidal lagoon to explore. Across the trail, there’s an easy to reach little beach where the water stretches into stunning expanse of the river’s curve. Poldark fans might recognize the estuary and Ross’s home of Nampara along the sandy beach of Porthcothan!

The estuary meets the Atlantic revealing a coastline with more beaches to explore than days of the week. Our guests can take their pick from magnificent stretches of golden sand to mile of coves and inlets; whatever you want to do, in or out of water; you’ll be spoilt for choice…. surf, fish, sunbathe, catch crabs in rock pools.

There are pretty villages close by -  Little Petherick, St. Merryn and St. Issey, with shops, churches and pubs where visitors can catch a glimpse of the Cornish way of life and places to visit from St. Enodoc Church to Crealy Great Adventure Theme Park and the Elizabethan manor at Prideaux Place. Padstow is a historic fishing port with so much more than renowned restaurants and award winning pasty shops with a busy harbour bustling with activity, galleries, the ferry to Rock, pleasure boats and fishing.

The cottage is a restful retreat, A quiet place to plan the day while taking in the natural beauty and wildlife of Cornwall any time of year.
