Our Cottage

Situated close to the river Camel and just inland from the picturesque port of Padstow. Roses grow round the door of the cottage that offers a perfect, peaceful retreat for those seeking to get away from it all, but close enough to villages, towns and magnificent beaches and secluded bays, not to be remote.

The delightful stone and slate barn conversion is filled with character features; it is light and airy with vaulted beamed ceilings, plastered walls and slate windowsills. The living room is open plan and comfortably furnished, with a dining area and a well equipped kitchen with all modern appliances. Upstairs, there is a bathroom and two bedrooms, a double and a twin, with views across lovely open country to the river and Bodmin Moor.

The Barn' has its own parking space, fenced garden with a lawn and patio, and is a 'neighbour' to similar cottages in the hamlet of Lower Halwyn; a quiet location 200m from Old Town Quay inlet and overlooks the breathtakingly beautiful sweep of the Estuary. There are steps up to a bridge and the Camel Trail; this re-surfaced railway line curving through spectacular scenery is a mostly level, car-free route into the harbour at Padstow. Used by cyclists, walkers and birdwatchers, it’s about 30 minutes to walk or 10 minutes by bike to Padstow, with the market town of Wadebridge, about 4 miles in the other direction.
